Here are five ways to conserve water and keep it clean.
* Go with the ( Low ) Flow - Install low-flow faucets, shower heads, reduced-flow toilets and water saving dish and clothes washers. Repair leaking faucets, toilets and pumps. One faucet leaking one drop per minute wastes equals to 46 gallons of water per year.
* Low maintenance - Are you landscaping your yard? Choose plants that low requirements for water, fertilizers and pesticides.
* Chemical free - Use low phosphate or phosphate free detergents and water based cleaning products.
* Dispose wisely - Take used oil and antifreeze to service station for recycling, never dump oil or other chemicals down storm drains or in drainage ditches. A quart of oil can contaminate up to two million gallons of drinking water.
* Make a splash - Join clean up activities in your neighborhood. Make it fun, its great way to bond with neighbors and helps the environment.
